Laughing thinker, miner of inspirational insights, sports fan, and community volunteer

I began my career shooting the rapids of the Ottawa River—with a video camera, that is. As a videographer for Wilderness Tours Whitewater Rafting I laughed a lot and slept little as I worked hard to create video memories of crashing sprays of whitewater for people.

For twelve years I worked as a producer for Rogers Television in Ottawa with some of the brightest and most talented people I have ever met.

I am now a freelance writer and a certified copy editor. I write original video and television scripts, speeches, and promotional materials. (Find links to sample scripts at the bottom of the page.)

“Scripts are always on time and rarely go to second draft, as our clients are always happy.” —Andrés del Castillo, r+d creative inc.

I also write short stories. I have been published in DESCANT magazine and a Writer’s Digest short story collection.

“This year’s contest attracted close to 19,000 entries. Your success in the face of such formidable competition speaks highly of your writing talent, and should be a source of great pride as you continue in your writing career.” —Kristen D. Godsey, Editor, Writer’s Digest

I was shortlisted in a Writers’ Union of Canada Short Prose Competition, and twice I won the Canadian Authors Association National Capital Writing Contest.

I have been married to my always entertaining husband, Don, since 1989. I am the mother of two teenagers who are so amazing I wonder how it is that I happened to create them. I love sports, and my favourite time of year is when I give my television remote a good workout by watching baseball, hockey, tennis, and curling all at the same time.

I have been a member of Trinity United Church in Ottawa for eighteen years. It is my home for inspiration and goosebump moments.
